Lluís Real CIRC + ANYWHERE
Can Curt Exhibition Hall - Plaza de la iglesia. Sant Agustí des Vedrà
Hours from Thursday to Sunday from 19h. to 21h.
Lluís Real approaches the Raluy Circus from a documentary and close look: he does not photograph the show as a “number”, but as a way of life. This series, Circ, is part of the exhibition project La Fugacitat de la Mirada. The circus appears as a mobile territory, made of waiting, work and bonds; a living heritage that travels with its wagons, its memory and its vintage aesthetics.
Along with these images, Anywhere brings together intimate photographs taken anywhere, small everyday finds that bear the author’s personal stamp: attention to gesture, to light and to what happens in an instant.
Between the tent and the everyday, Real builds a story where the important thing is not the grandiose, but the closeness: the discreet emotion of what is lived and the real beauty of what, for a moment, is allowed to be seen.
About the Photographer:
Lluís Real (Maó, Menorca, 1948) studied photography at the Ealing Technical College, School of Art (1969-1974). He made the leap to the British capital after being admitted with a work focused on the old escorxador of Maó, a decisive report in his career. During that period, he participated in exhibitions and collaborated as a free-lance in social reportage works in London. Back in Menorca, after a hiatus linked to agriculture, he returned to photography in a full-fledged way: he opened his own studio and combined editorial commissions with a personal practice sustained over time. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Spain and abroad, and his work is present in public and private collections.
In recent years, his work has been revisited in exhibition projects such as La fugacitat de la mirada and in the publishing field with author photobooks such as Any Amount of Dreams and Cartes a la mar, presented as part of the Menorca Doc Fest. He is currently dedicated mainly to personal photography.
